July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT”  Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We will blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. Don’t you just love the beach theme of this months Paper Pumpkin kit?  I made an alternative card and candy side box with elements from this kit.

My card starts with a Crumb Cake card base.  I used one of the panels from the kit and I cut it in half and added a Bermuda Bay strip along the top that was added to the card base.  I made a frame in Coastal Cabana with a combination of the Scalloped Contours Dies and the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I stamped the greeting from the kit on a Basic White panel cut with a Rectangle Stitched Die a bit smaller than the Coastal Cabana frame.  Both the frame and the greeting panel are attached with Dimensionals.

I used the coral die cut from the kit and placed it over everything.  I wanted t add the seahorse, but it blended in with the coral.  I decided to flip the seahorse over and sponge it with both Coastal Cabana & Bermuda Bay Ink with Sponge Daubers.  I added and “eye” with the Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Marker.  I finished the card off with multiple 2021 – 2023 In Color Opal Rounds!  They look so great in a beach ocean theme project don’t you think!

For my Candy Slide Box I used the Sweet Little Boxes as the base. I cut off a the top and side tabs before assembling the box to have the top completely open for the candy bar.  I decorated the box similar to the card with a Crumb Cake strip as the base and the striped panel from the kit as a decorative layer.  I added the same Bermuda Bay strips along the top and bottom of the kit panel.   The label is from the same combination of of the Scalloped Contours Dies and the Rectangle Stitched Dies only smaller.  I took the larger coral die cut from the kit and cut it up into a few smaller pieces as the accent and stamped the seahorse stamp from the kit in Poppy Parade Ink.

The same greeting from the card was used and die cut out with Layering Circles Dies in a combination of scalloped in Bermuda Bay and smooth in Basic White.
