December 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT”  Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. Friendly Gnomes and Glad We’re Friends

How adorable are these two Paper Pumpkin alternative cards!!! From the Paper Pumpkin kit, I used the belly bands, die cuts, and stamps to create these.

Friendly Gnomes Valentine’s

The card base is Thick Basic White, and I used the new Country Gingham Designer Series Paper for the full front panel.  I then used a Vellum Cardstock panel in the center.  I like the Vellum to ‘tone down’ the gingham to help focus the primary images.  I die-cut out the belly band from the kit with the largest Stylish Shapes Dies circle die.

I colored the heart-carrying gnome from the Friendly Gnomes Stamp Set with Stampin’ Blends:

• Hat – Light & Dark Soft Succulent
• Beard – Light & Dark Gray Granite
• Heart – Light & Dark Sweet Sorbet
• Shirt – Light & Dark Night of Navy
• Hands & Nose – 700 & 600 (Med. & Med. Light)
• Shoes – Light & Dark Basic Black

The greeting from the kit is stamped in Sweet Sorbet Ink on Basic White Cardstock and cut out with a banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I added a few of the leaf dies from the kit and finished it off with several 2021/23 In Color Opal Rounds.

Glad We’re Friends Graduation

I decided to make a second card with the same sketch as the first. I used the belly band from the kit with the graduation caps and pencils, and the graduation cap die-cut.  I just need to find an image that looked like it was proud to wear the cap…..I think I found it with this adorable corgi from the Glad We’re Friends Stamp Set.

The corgi is colored with Stampin’ Blends:

• Fur – Bronze & 400 (Medium Deep)
• Ears – Light Petal Pink & 900 (Light)
• Tongue – Light Flirty Flamingo
