You Can Create It

I’m so excited to be part of the international “You Can Create It!” group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.  The group was started by German demonstrators Anja Luft and Heike Fallwickl as a challenge to see what different and beautiful projects can be created from the same list of just a few materials.

Every trimester there are 4 monthly envelopes plus an extra envelope.  Each designer will use the monthly envelope, items from the extras envelope, and anything else they wish to add to create projects that we will share on the 2nd of the month.  You can join in by purchasing the quarterly project kit and you can share your creations on my Facebook VIP site, Crafty Stampin’ VIP Stampers, and use the hashtag #ycci. January and Extras envelope contents:

My Creation – Ocean Friends

The Ocean Friends Suite is one of my favorites from the 2025 January – April Mini Catalog.  Our envelope contained two 6″ x 6″ sheets of the Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper and every sheet is just so fun and bright.  I used the Friends of the Ocean Dies to cut out the lobster (“lobstah” if you’re from New England) and the coral from the out of the Summer Splash Cardstock. The envelope only contained one 4 1-4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Summer Splash, so to make the most of that panel, I cut 1/2″ off the top & side bringing the panel to 3 3/4″ x 5″.  I used one of the 1/2″ strips for the greeting, then cut the coral out of the middle of the remaining panel before attaching it to the Thick Basic White card base.

I stamped the greeting from Friends of the Ocean Stamp Set in Night of Navy Ink added a Basic White Cardstock panel embossed with the suites Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder and finished the card with several Melon Mambo Sunny Day Iridescent Dots.

I hope you liked my project. The rest of the team’s projects have the same base supplies, and it’s always amazing to see how different each one can be.
