Back in mid-March I got to attend Stampin’ Up!’s Regional event in Hartford, CT, with Gianna from my downline. This was our first time at a Regionals, and we had such a great time.
One of the fun activities of a Stampin’ Up! get together is swapping cards. I decided I wanted to make about 100 cards to swap. I had seen a card done by Dianna Gibbs for her Founder Circle swap, where she used a square punch to do a spotlight technique. I decided to try it with the hydrangea from the Because I Care Hostess set (one of my favorite stamps!!). The little trick with this is to punch the 1 3/8″ baja breeze square out of the larger mat for the entire stamp to save paper. Also, once you use the 1 1/4″ punch on the stamped image, you need to keep the pieces together. If you are doing multiple, the next punch could be slightly different, and whey you go to line the image back up, they will look off.
I tried to find a design I could easily duplicate. I have attached photos of trial runs I did, scroll to the bottom.

Stamp Set: Because I Care (Level 1 Hostess set)
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Crumb Cake; Early Espresso; Baja Breeze; Very Vanilla
Other: Big Shot; Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder; ; 1 1/4″ & 1 3/8″ square punches; Perfect Setting Die; dimensionals
