September 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT” Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. At the bottom of the blog post, you will find a list of all the participating blog hoppers so you can move along from blog to blog and see all the fantastic projects.
Scary Shilouettes Dies Card
I love Halloween…..well I love making projects with the colors associated with Halloween and decorating for Halloween, I don’t dress up👻🎃💀. This month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit has the cutest boxes and die-cuts for Halloween goodies.
I combined this month’s kit with the Scary Silhouettes Dies to create my projects. I used the belly band from the kit as the Designer Series Paper for the front of my card. A small panel of Pumpkin Pie cardstock behind it stands out from the Gorgeous Grape cardstock card base. The greeting comes from the Paper Pumpkin kit and is stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink on a Fresh Freesia cardstock and die cut with one of the circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I stamped a few of the bats from the kit over the greeting in Fresh Freesia Ink.
I created a cute little scene from the dies from the Scary Silhouettes Dies and added a moon with a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
But the best part of this card is that it’s a “Twist & Pop” card!!! I used two of the spiderweb belly bands from the kit, cut them down to just the spiderweb panels, then mounted them on a Fresh Freesia cardstock panel. I made the pop-up panel a little different from what I’ve seen with all four panels the same size and made the two center sections 1/2 the size of the two outer sections. So cute❤️!

Cracker & Treat Box Die Candy Roll
I also created a cute little candy holder with the Cracker & Treat Box Die, perfect for some Tootsie Rolls or Smarties. I cut the full cracker box out in Gorgeous Grape cardstock and then ran the plaid belly band from the kit through the die that I had cut down to the width of the center section of the die to get the score lines from the cracker box. The plaid panel then became a belly band for the candy holder. I finished the candy holder off with some In Color Bakers Twine in Starry Sky, and the cobweb die and greeting from the kit.
The pair make a super cute pair for Halloween!!!
I hope you liked my project. Be sure to follow along with all the other Blog Hoppers. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
