May 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT” Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. At the bottom of the blog post, you will find a list of all the participating blog hoppers so you can move along from blog to blog and see all the fantastic projects.
Kindest Expressions Card
I don’t know what to call this card. I kinda made it up as I went along. I wanted to have the depth of a diorama, but I was afraid I was going to lose too much of the gorgeous images from this month’s card bases with a diorama. So I got creative.
First Layer
The first layer is a window sheet. What you can’t see is a 1/4 of a Misty Moonlight which acts as the back of the card.
The window sheet is 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″ and scored at 1″ and attached to the Misty Moonlight panel with Stampin’ Seal +. I took one of the envelopes from the kit and cut out the detail image at the bottom and attached that to the front of the Window Sheet.
I stamped the “Oh, happy day” greeting from Kindest Expressions Stamp Set in Early Espresso Ink on Wild Wheat cardstock and cut it out with the largest banner die from the Nested Essentials Dies, and attached it directly to the window sheet with Seal.
Second Layer
The second section under the window sheet comes from one of the full card bases from the kit.
I attached the card base up about one inch from the bottom of the Vellum, then added a 1″ strip of Boho Blue cardstock and stamped one of the greetings from the kit in Early Espresso Ink. I die cut out a little arrow in Misty Moonlight from the Give It a Whirl Dies and attached it at the bottom as a hint you can turn the page.
Third Layer
The third layer is attached to the Misty Moonlight panel that is acting as the back panel.
I added a greeting from the new Next Destination Stamp Set over a greeting compass image from He’s the Man Stamp Set and die cut them out with a circle die from the All That Dies. I stamped the compass in Pebble Path, stamped off 1 time, and the “time to make New Memories” is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
I finished the card off with a few Copper Clay Dots from the 2023 – 2025 In Color Dots.
