August 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT” Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. At the bottom of the blog post, you will find a list of all the participating blog hoppers so you can move along from blog to blog and see all the fantastic projects.
This has to be the absolute best Paper Pumpkin kit ever!!! I loved all the cards as designed by Stampin’ Up! in the kit. I decided to focus on the envelopes for my alternative projects.
My first card uses the main section of the envelope that I cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I did that so I can attempt to use as much of the envelope as possible. I added a bit of Melon Mambo cardstock to top and bottom of the envelope section. My card base is Blackberry Bliss cardstock I added two Blackberry Bliss sunflowers cut from the Sunflower Dies with an Adhesive Sheet applied to the back and placed them on the right side of the card base. On the left side of the card base I added a panel of Crushed Curry cardstock embossed with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. I used a different section of the envelope for the greeting piece that was cut out with a circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I finished it off with a few of the light blue pearls from the Pastel Pearls.
My second card uses the same section of the envelope but is a landscape presentation vs. portrait. I again used the Rectangle Stitched Dies to cut out the panel from the envelope that I embossed with Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to hide the score line for the flap on the envelope. I used the same detail of the Hive 3D embossed Crushed Curry panel as the first card. I stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss Ink on another section of the envelope. I found if I used Basic White it would be to ‘bright’ against the rest of the card, so using the same material for the greeting as the base looks better. The greeting banner and the extra banner under the greeting are cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I finished the card with more of the Pastel Pearls, but in the light purple, Highland Heather color.
I hope you liked my project. Be sure to follow along with all the other Blog Hoppers. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
