August 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT” Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. At the bottom of the blog post, you will find a list of all the participating blog hoppers so you can move along from blog to blog and see all the fantastic projects.
Card
These are my cards for this month’s Paper Pumpkin Alternatives Blog Hop. I tried to make them similar in design.
For my first card, the pink lotus card, I used the card base from the kit for the base Designer Series Paper panel on a Melon Mambo Cardstock card base. I used a piece of vellum to tone down the base Designer Series Paper so the die cut and greeting stand out. I removed the leaf from the lotus flower and attached it to the back of the flower making it smaller visually, before attaching it behind my greeting. The greeting is from the kit and stamped on a spare scrap from the included envelopes in Misty Moonlight Ink, and die cut with a label from Timeless Arrangements Dies. I added a piece of Textured Shimmer Paper behind the greeting.
For my second card, I needed to cut down the card base to fit on the card base with a border of the Misty Moonlight Cardstock card base. I saved the pieces I cut off for other uses on the card! The section from the top of the panel was used for stamping my greeting. I stamped the greeting from the kit in Misty Moonlight Ink on the scrap and added the Textured Shimmer Paper behind it before adding it to the card base.
I decorated the inside of both cards. The first is just a strip of Textured Shimmer Paper and the second card has the other section of the front panel plus the Textured Shimmer Paper.
Both cards are finished with Glossy Dots Assortment. Gotta have some bling!
I hope you liked my projects. Be sure to follow along with all the other Blog Hoppers. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

You really upped the “wow” factor for these Paper Pumpkin alternative cards, Linda. It is amazing how a few changes can make such a difference.
