Gift Bag
I was a little perplexed at what project to create for Thanksgiving. It’s not a big card giving holiday, it’s a family, football and eating holiday. I decided to make at hostess gift bag if your going to someone else’s home for dinner or a favor bag if you are the one hosting the family.
To make the bag I pulled out the Stampin’ Up! Gift Bag Punch Board. To be honest, I’ve had it since it was first introduced, and this is the first time I’ve used it. (Don’t tell my husband, what happens in the stamp room stays in the stamp room.) I did have to find the Stampin Up video instructions (see below) to understand how to use it. It’s one of those situations, of once you get it, you get it. I did a few test before getting out the “good paper”. One thing to remember that made it easy for me is that you are making the front/back first, then the side, then the other front/back, last side, then tab to attach. I made a medium box.
The box is modified my box to have a top flap, an idea I got from from Australian Demonstrator Teneale Williams. To make it easy to open and close I added a velcro closure to the box.

Modifications
Cut and punch your paper as described in the Stampin’ Up! video. I made a medium box.
Flip the paper over and place the “back” back into the punch board. Punch the far left side.
Slide the paper over to the other side of the “back” and punch again.
When you remove your paper from the punch board, it should look like this.
Place in your Stampin’ Trimmer, and cut off the remaining “tops.”
Here’s what your paper will look like after your done with the modifications to make a top flap. Now continue on with he video instructions and decorate as you like.

Thanksgiving is a big card giving day in my family. I choose to send Thanksgiving cards instead of sending Christmas cards to avoid the rush of all the other cards. But your sac/box is lovely and I will probably use the design for a card. Thanks for sharing!
