I think it’s fair the say I love this stamp set, Mixed Floral!!! One of the things that comes to mind when I think about Easter is all the new spring flowers that will be blooming at that time, and tulips are one of my personal favorites. I wanted it to have a soft pastel look for Easter so I tried to do a “no-line” watercoloring technique.
I started with a Basic Gray Cardstock extra-large slim-line card at 9 x 4. This card fits in a standard business envelope. I added a 2″ x 9″ strip of Highland Heather Cardstock embossed with the Dashing Designs 3D Embossing Folder. You’ll have to run the strip through the Stampin’ Cut & Embossing Machine 2 times, once on each end of the panel, to get the full strip embossed.
I used the Daffodil Delight gingham pattern paper from Floral Delight Designer Series Paper for the frames behind each bouquet. I die-cut the DSP with the 3rd largest rectangle in the Textured Notes Dies. The rectangles were a bit too long so I cut them in half where the floral die would cover the seam and re-attached them back together to the needed height.
The first panel I stamped in Lemon Lolly Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor paper. I watercolored the flowers with Lemon Lolly Ink & a bit of Crushed Curry Ink. The leaves are Lemon Lime Twist Ink & Old Olive Ink. I used some Watercolor Pencils to add a bit more definition, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green & Old Olive. The small flowers are Highland Heather Ink & Gorgeous Grape Watercolor pencil.
My center panel is stamped in Bubble Bath Ink, then watercolored with Bubble Bath Ink, Pretty in Pink Ink, Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive Inks. I used the Lemon Lime Twist watercolor pencil to cover the Bubble Bath Ink on the leaves and stems. The small flowers are Blamy Blue Ink & watercolor pencil and their stems are covered with the Pecan Pie pencil.
The final panel was done the same way but stamped with Fresh Freesia Ink, then water colored with Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather Ink, and the Fresh Freesia & Gorgeous Grape pencil. The leaves were treated the same too, watercolored with Lemon Lime Twist Ink, then the Fresh Freesia Ink lines covered with the Granny Apple Green pencil. The small flowers are Crushed Curry Ink & Daffodil pencil and the stem Pecan Pie pencil.
The greeting is from the Twisted in Time Stamp Set stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink on Highland Heather Cardstock, then cut with the smallest Textured Notes Die.
I stamped an average business envelope with the same Mixed Floral flowers to match.
Everything is popped upon Dimensionals, with the center flowers doubled up on Dimensionals.
I hope you like my card!
