Love this Moment & More Wishes Card

Happy New Year!!! Do you like my New Year’s card? I used a combination of the carrying over More Wishes Stamp Set and the upcoming Love This Moment Stamp Sets to create my greeting. I stamped the New Year greeting in Night of Navy Ink and then stamped the “Happy” from Love This Moment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it in Gold Embossing Powder.  Tip: Make sure the ink from “New Year” is very dry, and then apply a good amount of dusting from the Embossing Buddy from the Embossing Additions Tool Kit, before stamping the Versamark Ink to prevent the embossing powder from sticking everywhere.

I die cut out 4 sets of “24” using the Alphabet A La Mode Dies from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  I used watercolor paper for its texture.  I attached Adhesive Sheets to the back of the watercolor paper before die-cutting to ease attaching them.

To ensure the numbers were properly aligned, I created a cardstock template the same height as my card base.  It allowed me to draw lines for the center, and the distance from the card base edge without messing up my finished card.  I made sure the center numbers were perfectly aligned, then that the 4 above & below had the same spacing.

To apply the numbers, I aligned the template over my card base along the top, bottom & side, then attached the center 2 & 4.  I then moved the template up & down, aligning the 4 on the template with an already applied 4, and the side of the card base, then applied my next set of numbers.

I couldn’t find any Designer Series Paper that I wanted to use so I made my own.  I cut 1/4″ strips of Night of Navy Cardstock & Gold Foil Sheets and 3/8″ strips of Basic White Thick.  (I forgot to take a photo of the final sheet.  The one below has a boo, boo….can you spot it?). I glued each piece to a strip of Basic White Thick cardstock, before trimming and attaching it behind my greeting panel.

I finished my card with shiny gold dots from the carrying-over Blooming Pearls.
