Day 3 of the Flowering Cactus Product Medley Showcase

Have you fallen in love with the Stampin’ Up! Flowering Cactus Product Medley yet?  Living in New England, the only cacti (one option in Merriam-Webster for the plural of cactus) we have are the little ones you can get to sit on your desk.

I used one of the busier Designer Series Paper patterns in the kit for the background but then softened the look with Vellum.  I love this trick.  It’s kinda the best of two worlds, allowing you to see the beautiful  Designer Series Paper and still focus on the main image.

This cactus image is die-cut from the Designer Series Paper allowing this card to come together really quickly.  I added a strip of Calypso Coral cardstock with the cactus prickly image created with one of the dies included in the Medley.

I finished the card off by stamping the greeting on Highland Heather Cardstock in Gorgeous Grape Ink and punching it out with the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch and some Pastel Pearls.
