🎨 Special Delivery – January 2026 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop
Welcome to another A Paper Pumpkin Thing, APPT, Blog Hop. Each month, our creative crew reimagines the kit, proving you can absolutely think outside the box, literally. I am hopping with the talented PPX Crew and fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to bring you fresh ideas and useful tips.
Each project in this hop features the December kit with coordinating Stampin’ Up! products. If you are new here, hi, I am Linda Cullen from Massachusetts, and you have landed on my blog, Crafty Stampin’. About the January Kit – Special Delivery
Craft the prettiest handmade valentines with the Special Delivery Paper Pumpkin Kit! These charming floral cards are perfect for sweet messages to friends and loved ones, featuring gold foil and nostalgic postage-stamp designs to make every note feel special. Each all-inclusive kit comes with everything you need to make nine gorgeous cards for Valentine’s Day, including card bases and coordinating printed envelopes, precut paper pieces, gold foil accent pieces, and a Valentine’s Day stamp set. To make this month even sweeter, everything comes packaged in a beautifully designed box with coordinating floral and postage stamp details!

Card 1, Slimline Postage Stamp Love

My first card is a slimline card, 3-1/2 x 8-1/2. I used the green printed envelope as my Designer Series Paper, because why waste good paper when it’s right there staring at you. You can see in the photos how I cut up the envelope and turned it into panels. Crafting win, and also a tiny victory over my scrap pile.

For the ribbon, I wrapped Shaded Spruce and Soft Sea Foam Ribbon around the card, but left a small break in the front center. That gap gets hidden behind one of the Perennial Postage die cuts, so it looks neat and intentional. We love an intentional moment.
For the postage layers, I used the 3rd largest die from the Perennial Postage Dies to cut three Mossy Meadow postage shapes. The greeting is stamped in Blueberry Bushel Ink, crisp, bold, and perfect with the floral look.
To finish, I sprinkled on multiple Low Profile Sparkle Dots, because if I’m making “Special Delivery” cards, I’m delivering sparkle too.
Card 2, Diagonal Cut Card Front Fold
My second card is a Diagonal Cut Card Front Fold, one of my favorite “looks fancy but behaves nicely” fun folds. I cut the card front from 2 inches high on the right to 1 inch high on the left, so you get that peek at the inside, and it instantly adds interest without adding a ton of bulk.
To build the focal point, I used two large postage-stamp pieces. From one of them, I fussy cut the entire large flower image, then attached that fussy cut image right over the full image using dimensionals. After that, I added the individual die cut flowers from the kit on top. The layered effect is so good, it’s like the card is wearing a fabulous floral jacket.
I stamped the greeting in Blueberry Bushel Ink. For the circle “love” image, I used Poppy Parade Ink, stamped off once, so it softens just a bit and plays nicely with the florals.
Inside the card, I used the green envelope again as the Designer Series Paper panel, because I clearly had a theme and I was committed. 😉

I hope you enjoyed these alternatives, and, more importantly, that they sparked an idea for stretching your kit pieces in a fresh way. Paper Pumpkin is already a great value, but when you start remixing pieces, it becomes a whole crafty buffet.
