You Can Create It – November Challenge | Featuring Merry Christmas
(Oops – I hit the “publish” button too soon. The other demonstrators’ links will be up at 1 pm EST. Sorry)
I am excited to share my project for this month’s You Can Create It international design challenge. This fun global Stampin’ Up! collaboration, created by talented German demonstrators Anja Luft and Heike Fallwickl, invites crafters to see just how much creativity can come from a limited set of supplies. It is always amazing to see how many completely different projects appear from the same little envelope of goodies.
✂️ What is “You Can Create It”?
Every quarter, participants receive a kit that includes four monthly envelopes plus one bonus extras envelope. Each month, we open one envelope and create a project using the contents, along with anything from the extras pack and a few finishing touches from our own stash.
On the 2nd of each month, our international team of demonstrators shares projects to spark your creativity. And here’s the best part: you can join in too! 🥳
👉 Grab your own YCCI Kit, create along with us, and share your masterpiece in my Crafty Stampin’ VIP Stampers Facebook group or on social media with the hashtag #YCCI.
Fun fact: “Mach was draus” means “Make something of it!” in German—and that’s exactly what we aim to do.

-
- 1 piece (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) Garden Green Cardstock
Extras Envelope:
- 4 sheets (8-1/2” x 11”) Basic White Cardstock
- 2 sheets (8-1/2” x 11”) Thick Basic White Cardstock
- 4 Basic White Envelopes
- 3 sheets Foam Adhesive Sheet

💌 My Project: Merry Christmas
If you need a simple Christmas card that still feels polished and special, the Christmas Greetings Mix and Match Cards and Envelopes and the Christmas Tags and More Mix and Match Specialty Designer Series Paper are a perfect pairing.

- For this card, I used:
-
- 1 Crumb Cake plaid Christmas Greetings card base and matching envelope
- 2 pieces of cardstock, Basic White (5″ x 3″) and Crumb Cake (5-1/4″ x 3-1/4″)
- 5 die-cut images from the Christmas Tags and More Specialty Designer Series Paper
Merry Christmas Stamp Set - 3 small Gold Traditional Sparkling Sequins.
-
The soft Crumb Cake plaid card base sets a cozy background. I added a simple Crumb Cake layer, then a crisp Basic White panel with the large Merry Christmas greeting stamped in Real Red Ink. The sweet bells and patterned banners are all die cut from the Christmas Tags and More paper, then popped up for a little dimension.

The star of the show is that bright red cardinal perched on a sprig of greenery, which pulls all the traditional holiday colors together. A few gold embellishments and a coordinating envelope flap finish the card with minimal effort, which is exactly what we want during holiday crunch time. 🎄
