You Can Create It

I’m so excited to be part of the international “You Can Create It!” group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.  The group was started by German demonstrators Anja Luft and Heike Fallwickl as a challenge to see what different and beautiful projects can be created from the same list of just a few materials.

Every trimester there are 4 monthly envelopes plus an extra envelope.  Each designer will use the monthly envelope, items from the extras envelope, and anything else they wish to add to create projects that we will share on the 2nd of the month.  You can join in by purchasing the quarterly project kit and you can share your creations on my Facebook VIP site, Crafty Stampin’ VIP Stampers, and use the hashtag #ycci. My Creation – Feathered Fun

I love all the bright, fun colors that are part of the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper!  I use the colors in the Designer Series Paper as my choices for my cute little love birds from the Feathered Fun Stamp Set. I first stamped the love birds multiple times in Blackberry Bliss Ink on the Blackberry Bliss Cardstock card front for a bit of tone-on-tone texture.  The greeting comes from the Everyday You & Me Stamp Set, and I thought that it worked really well with love birds, and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink on Basic White cardstock. I used the Old Olive panel from the Designer Series Paper along the side of the fruit Designer Series Paper panel and as a backing for the greeting, but ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder for added dimension.

The love birds are stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink on Basic White cardstock.  I colored them with the following Stampin’ Blends:

• Breast – Lemon Lolly Light; Daffodil Delight Dark
• Beak – Pecan Pie Light
• Feathers – Flirty Flamingo Light & Dark; Strawberry Slush Light

I then fussy cut out the birds with Paper Snips.

I finished the card with several Holographic Resin Dots.

I hope you like my project. The rest of the team’s projects have the same base supplies, and it’s always amazing to see how different each one can be.
