Sweet Little Valentines Cards & More:

For the Valentine’s Day theme of the Blog Hop, I decided to use the Sweet Little Valentine’s Day Card & More Kit as my starting point.  This is the cutest set in the January – June 2021 Mini Catalog.  The kit makes 10 – (4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″) cards and includes doubled sided card bases, printed layers, and envelops.

I chose to make the simplest of cards from the kit, and a couple of stepped up cards, and a sampler made with elements from the kit.

Simple Cards:

These are the simplest of cards you can create with this kit.  I simply attached the printed layers to the card bases with Dimensionals.  This would be great if you needed to whip up a bunch of cards really quick, or if you had a small child who wished to make their own Valentine’s Cards.

Stepped Up Card 1:

This stepped-up card is actually very simple.  I cut the front off of one of the kits card bases, die-cut some Gold Foil Sheets with the largest stitched scallop rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies that I cut in half diagonally.  I finished it off with some Sheer Pool Party Ribbon and Gold Gilded Gems.

Stepped Up Card 2:

This card features the cute little snail from the Snailed It Stamp Set that was colored with Stampin’ Blends and cut out with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I took 2 of the kits card bases and die cut 2 rectangles from each with the Rectangle Stitched Dies to get the panels for the background.  They are over a panel of Pool Party Cardstock with Gold Foil lining the top and bottom that just peeks out at you between the striped panel.  The greeting is from the Heart to Heart Stamp Set that is stamped in Melon Mambo Ink on Petal Pink Cardstock and punched out with the Timeless Label Punch.

Sampler:

I created this 9″ x 9″ sampler to put into an Ikea frame to add to my Valentine’s day decor.  I used 3 of the printed layers from the kit and added several die-cut hearts from multiple die sets: Detailed Hearts Dies, Many Hearts Dies, and Stitched Be Mine Dies.  I added a die-cut “Always” from the Always Dies.  I attached Foam Adhesive to the back of the Melon Mambo panel before die cutting it to raise it up above the Petal Pink background.  I added a greeting across the Many Hearts Dies Melon Mambo heart from the Heart to Heart Stamp Set that I cut the ends of with the Banners Pick a Punch Punch.

    What fun color combos you used! Adding the blue makes it not as flowery but still wonderful. I’ve worked with elem. age boys making cards for their mothers. Nice to add that option. #stampitcontest
