I found this theme to be a challenge.  For inspiration I googled “New Years” and after all the images of fireworks and bubbly champagne was the the Chinese New Year dragon and it really caught my eye.  I thought of the new Yummy In My Tummy stamp set that Stampin Up has included in the upcoming Occasions Catalog.

This guy could totally turn around and have a razor spiny back and tail, like a dragon.  I colored him with the new Watercolor Pencils, Real Red and Daffodil Delight, then used the blender pen to blend the colors.

The card is 5 1/2″ square.  I cut out two sets of “2017” numbers with the Stampin Up Large Number Framelits, colored them with Clear Wink of Stella and attached them as the background.

The Good Luck greeting from the Banners for You stamp set, and seemed appropriate for a Chinese New Year card.
