You Can Create It

I’m so excited to be part of the international “You Can Create It!” group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.  The group was started by German demonstrators Anja Luft and Heike Fallwickl as a challenge to see what different and beautiful projects can be created from the same list of just a few materials.

Every quarter there are  3 monthly envelopes plus a quarterly extra envelope.  Each designer will use the monthly envelope, items from the quarterly envelope, and anything else they wish to add to create projects that we will share on the 2nd of the month.  You can join in by purchasing the quarterly project kit and you can share your creations on my Facebook VIP site, Crafty Stampin’ VIP Stampers, and use the hashtag #ycci. My Creation – Hand-Penned Petals

I decided to combine this month’s package with the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set, and I’m in love with the combination!!!  Both card bases are adjusted to have the 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper attached to the inside of the card and shown as part of the front.  The card on the left has a 2″ cut off the bottom of the card front and the card on the right has a 1″ cut from the right side of the card front.

For the card on the left, I added two small strips of cardstock, Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis, to the bottom of the cut edge on the card front.  The 2″ strip of Orchid Oasis Glimmer Paper is attached to the inside.

I used the 3rd largest Rectangle Stitched Die on the Parakeet Party panel that I then stamped in Parakeet Party Ink for a tone-on-tone with the same image I used as the focal point. It’s attached only to the top of the card front, hanging over the glimmer paper.

I stamped the main flower in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the flower with Stampin’ Blends.  I Blends I used:

• Main Flower: Balmy Blue Light, Orchid Oasis Light & Dark
• Small Flower: Flirty Flamingo Light & Dark; Daffodil Delight Light
• Leaf & Stem:  Parakeet Party Light & Dark; Granny Apple Green Light

The flower is then covered with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.  The greeting is on Flirty Flamingo card stock and is stamped in Memento Ink.

The circles & small Orchid Oasis banner are cut with the new Stylish Shapes Dies.  I finished the card with the new 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots.

My second card was created in a similar manner but is an 8 1/2 x 11 card base vs 4 1/4 x 11 of the first card.  I cut a 1″ off the end of the card front allowing the Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper on the inside to show from the front.

I used the 2nd largest Rectangle Stitched Dies to cut the Tahitian Tide panel.  The main flower is stamped multiple times in Tahitian Tide Ink to create the tone-on-tone background image.  I die cut the detailed flower image from the Penned Flowers Die 2 times from the Parakeet Party Glimmer Paper and attached it to the back of the 2nd largest circle from the new Stylish Shapes Dies.

I stamped the main flower in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the flower with Stampin’ Blends.  I Blends I used:

• Main Flower: Balmy Blue Light, Tahitian Tide Light & Dark, Daffodil Delight Dark
• Medium Flowers:  Daffodil Delight Light & Dark,  Soft Suede Dark
• Small Flowers:  Flirty Flamingo Light & Dark; Daffodil Delight Light
• Leaves:  Parakeet Party Light & Dark; Granny Apple Green Dark

The flower is then covered with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.  The greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with a banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. The card is finished with several 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots.
