Happy Saturday, and welcome to the Team Stamp It Valentines Day Blog Hop.
Welcome to everyone who just came from Lori Mueller's blog, Stampin' Dreams.
For the blog hop I decided to make Valentines Day gift boxes and tags for my kids, Avery & Logan.
I used the new Hey, Valentine stamp set from the new Occasions catalog and Sea Street stamp set from the annual catalog. I thought the images worked well together.
I colored both images with my blendabilities.
On the fishes, I wanted a softer colors so I colored on to an acrylic block then used the color lifter to pick the color up from the acrylic block and apply it to the images. This can give you a much broader range of shades with your blendabilities.
You can't really tell from the photo, but I covered the glasses, and the heart with Crystal Effects. I let it dry overnight.
I colored the pirate tag directly with the blendabilities, so the colors are more bold and intense. I used the Gold Dazzel Marker on the gold coins in the treasure chest.
I made the boxes from the new 12 x 12 Kraft card stock. It's nice and thick and will hold up well for 3D items. I used the Gift Box Punch Board to make the boxes. The Pirate "boy" box is 4 x 4 x 4 and the Fishes "girl" box is 3.25 x 3.25 x 2.5. They kinda fall open like a bowl. You can fill your box with candy, a small toy, a gift card, or whatever you can think of. If you used loose candy, it wouldn't fall out when it's opened.
I made a belly band for each box from 1 1/4 inch of cards stock and punched it with the new confetti hearts punch. I placed Gold Foil behind the Night of Navy band, and Silver Foil behind the Melon Mambo one.
I placed a pearl over each bubble. Not what I would do if I was making a large number of tags, but for one special tag it's just so cute!
The top of the pirate tag was cut from a Labels Collection Die, and the tag hole is from the chalk talk die set. Just place your paper through only half of the paper to achieve this look!
I used the alphabet rotary stamp set for the names. I finished both off with a small strip of foil punched with the hearts boarder punch and some sequin trim – Gold and the new Bermuda Bay!
I hope you enjoyed your stay here at Crafty Stampin' for the blog hop, now you can contiune on to Kathi Rotti's blog, Kathie Loves Stamping.
Happy Stampin'
