🎨 Celebrate Spring – February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop
Welcome to another A Paper Pumpkin Thing, APPT, Blog Hop. Every month, our crafty crew takes the kit and gives it a little makeover, because we all know the box is just a suggestion. I am hopping with the talented PPX Crew and fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to share fresh ideas, practical tips, and a couple of card designs that stretch this kit even further.
If you are new here, hi, I am Linda Cullen from Massachusetts, and you are visiting my blog, Crafty Stampin’. Scroll to the bottom for the full list of blog hop stops so you can tour all the clever alternatives.

About the February Kit, Celebrate Spring
This month’s Celebrate Spring Paper Pumpkin Kit is pure Easter joy. Sweet florals, decorated eggs, and that adorable bunny, it is basically springtime on cardstock. Each all-inclusive kit makes nine cards and includes printed card bases and envelopes, precut pieces, sequin embellishments, baker’s twine, and a spring-themed stamp set. Bonus: it coordinates with the Easter Joy Suite Collection, so if you love mixing and matching, this kit is ready for it.

For my two sister projects, I pulled these elements straight from the kit.
Envelopes
Peach Pie diamond dots panel
Several die cuts

I kept the vibe soft, bright, and giftable, like something you would tuck into an Easter basket or pop in the mail to make someone’s day.
Card 1, Happy Easter

For this first alternative, I started with a Crumb Cake card base and stamped the top half with the kit’s egg images in Crumb Cake ink. I love tone-on-tone stamping like this; it adds interest without getting busy.
The main panel is Thick Basic White, stamped with the kit greeting in Crumb Cake ink. Behind that, I layered in a skinny strip of Pretty in Pink cardstock, plus a piece of the envelope flap and a small section of the Peach Pie diamond dots panel for a little sparkle and texture.
Then I brought in the stars of the show, that bunny and the pastel egg die cuts. I popped them up with dimensionals so they sit forward and feel extra special. A few pink and clear sequins finish it off, just enough shine to feel fancy, not enough to feel like you spilled the embellishment container.
Card 2, Hello Friend

This one is all about a sweet focal panel and a soft belly band moment.
I used another Crumb Cake card base, then wrapped it with an envelope flap turned into a belly band. So simple, so effective, and it uses what you already have in the kit, which is my favorite kind of crafting. I added Bubble Bath Faux Linen Ribbon over the belly band and tied it in a bow on the front. That ribbon is giving spring brunch energy, and I am here for it.
The main panel is Thick Basic White, and I added small pieces of the Peach Pie diamond dots panel to the top and bottom as subtle borders. The greeting is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, and the die-cut eggs take center stage. I tucked several of the die-cut flowers around the panel to balance everything out and add that finished, designer look.
A few of the kit embellishments to wrap it up, and it is ready to mail, gift, or hoard lovingly in your craft room, no judgment.
