About the August Kit – Farmhouse Florals
The August 2025 kit, Farmhouse Florals, is a rustic, whimsical delight. It’s filled with hand-painted floral designs, cozy textures, and warm country charm that instantly makes your projects feel homey and heartfelt. 🌻 I decided to create two alternative greeting cards that showcase how easy it is to stretch your kit with a few extra touches.
🌼 Card 1: Farmhouse Window Hello
My first card begins with a Secret Sea card base (4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″). On top, I layered another Secret Sea panel (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder for instant farmhouse texture, then added a panel of Country Woods Designer Series Paper.
The kit’s window die cut became my focal point. For the sentiment, I adhered Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back of Poppy Parade cardstock, then die-cut the word “hello” using the Circle of Seasons Add-On Dies (exclusive to Paper Pumpkin). This little trick gives the word perfect dimension and presence on the card front.
I finished the look with three Secret Sea 2025–2027 In Color Flat Pearls for just the right hint of shine.
Inside, I cut down one of the kit envelopes to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and stamped a greeting from the kit in Secret Sea ink for a coordinating finish.
⌨️ Card 2: Typewriter Notes
My second card highlights the adorable typewriter image from the kit. Using the largest die from the Textured Notes Dies, I carefully trimmed and embossed the typewriter panel from a kit card front. To create a clean edge, I ran the die partially through my machine twice—first to cut the top, right, and bottom, and then flipped it to emboss the left edge only.
Next, I used the Hole Punch Assortment – Ribbon Slider Punch to add slots 1 3/8″ up from the bottom and 5/8″ from the sides. I threaded through 18″ of Secret Sea 3/8″ Faux Linen Ribbon, wrapping it around the panel and tying it into a sweet bow on the left side.
The Cherry Cobbler card base (4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″) got a layer of embossed Exposed Brick cardstock for texture. I adhered the typewriter panel with Dimensionals for depth, then stamped the kit’s greeting on the “paper” die in Cherry Cobbler ink and added it to the typewriter with even more Dimensionals for a true 3D look.
For finishing touches, I added three Cherry Cobbler Adhesive-Backed Berries. 🌻
Inside, I trimmed another envelope to 4″ x 4″, adhered it, and stamped a sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink.
