Merry Christmas in July!!! I fell in love with this sweet little angel from the upcoming January – June Mini Catalog Angels of Peace Stamp Set. I thought immediately of making a window card with the tea-light.
How to make a Window Easel Twist Card:
Card Cuts:
- Basic Gray Cardbase: 41/4″ x 11″
- Basic Gray (A) : 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- Basic Black layer (B): 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
- Basic Black window layer (C): 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Vellum Cardstock: 3 1/2″ x 4″
- Simply Elegant DSP: 2″ x 4″
- Brushed Gold: 2 – 1/2″ x 4″
- Inside:
- Basic Black: 4″ x 5 5 1/4″
- Basic White: 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Simply Elegant DSP: 2 1/2″ x 5″
- Basic Gray: 1 1/2″ x 3 1/4″
- Basic White: 2″ x 3 1/2″
Take the card base (I’m using white so you can see the score lines). Score along the 11″ side in 1/2 at 5 1/2″. Then to get the “twist” score from the upper left-hand side of the card front to the bottom right-hand side of the card base. To make that easy, line those points up on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I’ve used a permanent marker along the 1-inch marks of my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to aid in lining up the cardstock.
I took the large label from the upcoming Seasonal Labels Dies and cut out matching “holes” from both the card base and panel “A”. Attach panel “A” to the card base – apply adhesive only to the “red” section of the card base so the easel part of the card will work.
Now it’s time to decorate! Take the 2 Basic Black Cardstock panels (B & C) – shown below in white for visibility. For panel “B”, use the 2nd largest die from the Rectangle Stitched Dies and cut out a frame. For panel “C” Die cut out the middle size label from the Seasonal Labels Dies on the right side of the panel. This will need to line up with the labels cut on the card base to allow the tea light to shine through.
Stamp the little angel in Versamark Ink in the center of the Vellum Cardstock and cover with the Gold Powder from the Metallics Embossing Powders, heat with the Heat Tool. Attach to the back of the window in panel “C” with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive centering the angel. Trim Vellum if needed so it will not show on the front.
I cut several of the Black Mini Dimensionals in half, spaced them around the edge of the panel with the angel to attached it to the frame panel. This extra panel ensures you don’t see the larger label die cuts of the base from the front of the card and gives the card some additional visual depth.
Apply Stampin’ Seal Adhesive along edges of “frame” and add several Black Stampin’ Dimensionals on the inside of the inner panel. Attach to the card base. Keep an eye on where the Seal and Dimensionals will be located with the larger die cut is on the card base. I had to move the Dimensionals in the photo away from the angel as they showed through.
Attach the strips of the gold sheets from the Brushed Metallic Cardstock along both sides of the Simply Elegant DSP strip with Seal and attach to the front panel next to the angel with Seal.
Decorate the inside of the card. Layer Basic Black, Basic White & Simply Elegant DSP panel together and attach with Stampin’ Seal.
You’ll use the greeting to hold the easel opens. Stamp greeting from the Angels of Peace Stamp Set in Basic Gray Ink on Basic White (2″ x 3 1/2″) panel and cut out with the smallest label from the Seasonal Labels Dies. Punch the ends of the Basic Gray (1 1/2″ x 3 1/4″) panel with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. Attach both together with Seal and then attach to the inside of the card base with Dimensionals.
I finished the card off with 3 gold Metallic Pearls.
