You Can Create It

I’m so excited to be part of the international “You Can Create It!” group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.  The group was started by German demonstrators Anja Luft and Heike Fallwickl as a challenge to see what different and beautiful projects can be created from the same list of just a few materials.

Every trimester there are 4 monthly envelopes plus an extra envelope.  Each designer will use the monthly envelope, items from the extras envelope, and anything else they wish to add to create projects that we will share on the 2nd of the month.  You can join in by purchasing the quarterly project kit and you can share your creations on my Facebook VIP site, Crafty Stampin’ VIP Stampers, and use the hashtag #ycci. My Creation – Mixed Florals

I haven’t watercolored in a hot minute and forgot how much I love the outcome!!!  I chose the upcoming Mixed Florals Stamp Set ( January Online Exclusive) to heat emboss black Basics WOW! Embossing Power on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  Squeeze the ink pads to get ink on the inside cover and use the Water Painters to apply the ink.

While watercoloring you can get multiple tones with a single ink color. The flower petals are colored with only Poppy Parade Ink, but they range from dark to light.  I used Mossy Meadow Ink for the leaves, Crushed Curry Ink for the smaller flowers, and Pecan Pie Ink for the flower stems.  To make the entire image “pop” I did a Pool Party Ink wash around the edge.

The watercolor panel is mounted on a Basic Black Cardstock card base.  I added a Poppy Parade Cardstock panel embossed with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder, and added Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon.  The greeting comes from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set, is embossed with white Basics WOW! Embossing Power then die cut out with the largest banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I finished the card with multiple Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I hope you liked my project. The rest of the team’s projects have the same base supplies, and it’s always amazing to see how different each one can be.
