SPRING!🌷. Who’s excited for spring? 🙋🏼♀️ I’m so ready to be done with the snow and cold from this winter here in New England. One of my favorite flowers are Coneflowers/Echinacea. I’m planning on adding several more to my garden this summer. I immediately grabbed the Mixed Floral Stamp Set for the Spring Theme to this blog hop for some fun watercoloring.
I grabbed this photo off the internet as my inspiration for my coloring. Do you think I matched the flowers in the photo? The Classic Ink colors I used for the flowers are as follows:
- Cone top – Early Espresso Ink
- Petals – Cherry Cobbler & Crushed Curry Ink
- Stems & Leaves – Mossy Meadow Ink
- Little Flowers – Gorgeous Grape Ink
- Ladybugs – Cherry Cobbler Ink
I squeezed the lid of the Classic Ink Pad so the ink pad inside touches the inside cover, then used Water Painters to watercolor. If you find this difficult you can drop a few Reinker Drops on the cover.
The images from the Mixed Floral Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper then die cut with the matching die from Mixed Floral Dies.
I used several items from the upcoming Online Exclusives release. The background is the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder, and the paper is the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper. This paper is photo-realistic images of woven baskets. I just love all of these papers. The greeting is from the upcoming Textured Notes Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock panel then added a small peek of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.
I added a few watercolored ladybugs to finish my card. I usually like to add some embellishments like pearls or enamel dots, but I thought it would interfere with the ladybugs.
I hope you like my card!
