April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT” Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. At the bottom of the blog post, you will find a list of all the participating blog hoppers so you can move along from blog to blog and see all the fantastic projects.
Gorgeous Garden Card & Box
Looking at the new Gorgeous Gardens die yesterday during the Stampin’ Scoop Show, I thought that this die would look amazing as the background for the cherry blossom die-cut from the April Paper Pumpkin kit.
First I cut the die-cut cherry blossom in half. Here’s a really simple step-by-step on where & how.
The rest of the card is very simple. It’s a Petal Pink Cardstock base with a full front panel also of Petal Pink Cardstock that is die cut with the Gorgeous Gardens leaf die. I attached it with Foam Adhesive Strips on each side and various Mini Dimensionals through the middle. The greeting from the Paper Pumpkin Kit is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a Basic White Cardstock panel that is backed with a Basic Black Cardstock panel and Silver Foil panel. I finished the card with a few of the single flowers and the Iridescent Rhinestones from the kit.
Then I decided to make a matching box. This box is big enough to hold a few cards or some goodies. The box cut & score diagram is included below. The box is made from 1 full sheet of Petal Pink Cardstock, then a second panel (5-7/8″ x 4-3/4″) that is die cut with the same leaf die from the Gorgeous Garden Dies. Before attaching the front panel, use the ribbon hole from the Very Best Trio Punch for the 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon in the middle of the front and back of the box. Attach the front panel with Foam Adhesive Strips and Mini Dimensionals.
I t thought these would make a nice Mother’s Day gift.
I hope you liked my projects. Be sure to follow along with all the other Blog Hoppers. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
