January 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives
Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing “APPT” Monthly Blog Hop! The PPX Crew has joined up with some additional Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to give you even more amazing alternatives with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. We blog hop on the first Friday of the month with alternate projects from the prior month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. We are all using the current month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and Stampin’ Up! Products. I’m Linda Cullen from Massachusetts and you are visiting my blog Crafty Stampin’. At the bottom of the blog post, you will find a list of all the participating blog hoppers so you can move along from blog to blog and see all the fantastic projects.
Do you L❤️VE this Paper Pumpkin kit!!!! OMG, It has to be one of my favorites!! My projects are focused on the card from in the kit with the floral details. I cut them off the card base, saving the opposite side for another project, and used them as the main focus of my cards.
My first card uses Wild Wheat Cardstock as the card base. Even though the kit states that the coordinating colors include Daffodil Delight, I find that the yellow in this print matches Wild Wheat really well.
I cut 1 1/4″ off the bottom of the card front, then attached the Paper Pumpkin print to the inside of the card base. A Gorgeous Grape Cardstock panel embossed with one of the Basic 3D Embossing Folders was added as the first layer on the card base. The greeting panel is an additional piece from the Paper Pumpkin floral card base, cut out with the Deckled Rectangle Dies, and covered with a matching die cut of Vellum Cardstock. I used the Paper pumpkin Add-on The Love of Spring Dies to add the “love” greeting in Gorgeous Grape card stock with Adhesive Sheet attached to the back.. I added a few lavender die-cuts from the kit.
I added a small strip of the Gorgeous Grape Glimmer Paper from the Three Color Glimmer Pape Pack along the cut edge and a Wild Wheat Luster Specialty Paper banner from the Zany Zoo Dies to add more interest. The card was finished with several Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.
My second card is a bit simpler. I used the heart from Hooray For Surprises Dies and cut out a heart from the center of the floral panel. I attach the floral panel off-center to a piece of Wild Wheat Luster Specialty Paper. I then attached a matching Gorgeous Grape heart with a Seal to the center of the floral panel and then the floral heart over that heart with Dimensionals so the Grape is only visible from the side. I finished the card with the “love” die from Paper Pumpkin add-on The Love of Spring Dies cut from the Gorgeous Grape Glimmer Paper from the Three Color Glimmer Pape Pack that I added Adhesive Sheets to the back before die cutting.
I hope you liked my projects. Be sure to follow along with all the other Blog Hoppers Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
